There is no account. Encore never asks who you are, so there is nothing it could link your activity to.

What happens to your recording

The audio is sent to our server, converted into a melodic fingerprint, and deleted immediately after. It is never stored and never listened to. The fingerprint is a compressed list of the intervals between notes; it cannot be turned back into sound, and it contains nothing but the melody.

What is kept

DataWhyHow long
Melodic fingerprintSo the piece can be recognised next time โ€” this is the index the app runs onIndefinitely
Notification tokenOnly to tell you that someone answered your open questionUntil the question is answered
Piece names submitted by peopleShown publicly on the question's page, and added to the indexIndefinitely

Counts of identifications, shares and installs are kept as daily totals only. They contain no identifiers and cannot be traced to anyone.

What is public

When a piece is not recognised, its page is public and shareable โ€” that is how a person can answer it. The page shows the piece name once someone provides it. It never shows anything about you.

What we never do

No advertising. No analytics SDKs. No data brokers. No tracking across apps or websites. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing. The only third parties involved are Expo's push service and Apple's notification service, which together relay the single notification described above.

Children

Encore collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Since nothing is tied to an identity, there is no personal record to access or delete. If you want a specific question page removed, write to us with its link and we will take it down.
